Champion Staffing Legacy

In profound remembrance of Bruce Covernton, President of Champion Staffing, who peacefully departed on January 23rd, 2024, we honor his memory. His profound impact on the staffing industry and unwavering commitment to the Calgary community will be dearly missed.

Champion Staffing is the product of Grey Cup Champion Bruce Covernton. Bruce brought over twenty years of staffing experience to the Champion Staffing team. As a former vice president with Mark Staffing Solutions, and as an owner with Big Fish Staffing Services, Bruce's experience and leadership in this space were an incredible asset to the business.

Athletic Excellence

Bruce was a former Calgary Stampeder, two time CFL Grey Cup Champion, an NCAA First Team All American, and a Weber State Hall of Fame inductee. The "Big Tuna" was a prominent Calgarian with extensive business contacts and connections throughout the city.

Community Champion

Bruce was also a proud member of the Calgary community, supporting many organizations — CUPS Calgary, Centre for Suicide Prevention, and Fresh Start Recovery Centre to name a few.

We remain inspired by his legacy of purpose, community service and professional excellence.
